Learn all the skills needed to work in different parts of a restaurant.

The Distillery District hosts 5 highly rated restaurants that are led by managers and chefs with extensive experience. Fast Track Distilled gives you the chance to learn from these experts and practice what they have learnt within modern restaurants, each with their own specialty and/or focus. After successful completion of the program, you will be supported to get a job either at the Distillery District or other restaurant in the Greater Toronto Area

You will participate in an interview to determine which jobs best suit your personality and skills – either the front or back areas of the restaurant. The job skills that will be covered include:

Kitchen / Back

  • Dishwasher
  • Kitchen Porter
  • Prep Cook
  • Line Cook
  • Bakery

Restaurant / Front

  • Hosting
  • Busser
  • Server
  • Barista
  • Barback

5 weeks (2 weeks in classroom + 3 weeks hands on training)

Program Eligibility

  • Resident of Ontario, eligible to work in the province
  • Newcomers and individuals in receipt of Ontario Works
  • For the Physically able to stand for 8 hours, lift up to 30 kg
  • Masks are optional for this in-person training
